Mike did three uniquely difficult projects in our home (tape peeling from vaulted ceiling with crow’s-foot; water spots on garage ceiling with crows-foot; hanging and finishing sheet in basement adjacent to ceiling and corner). Each of these projects had its own challenges, but Mike really went above and beyond and did a phenomenal job. If you are like me and have concerns about leaving contractors in your home unsupervised, you will have no concerns with Cornerstone – Mike is like your next door neighbor. We loved Mike’s meticulous work, professionalism, and cleanliness, and we couldn’t be happier with the service! We intend to use Cornerstone again in the near future when it is time to paint the exterior!

I had a really great experience with Mike. He showed up when he said he would, took care of the job quickly, and was very good with my dogs. He performed a ceiling repair for me, which required re-texturing the ceiling. Now that it’s complete, you can’t tell that there was ever any damage. He even patched up a few hairline cracks that I hadn’t even noticed, until he pointed them out. As you would hope, he was good about wearing a mask when he came cover. The only issue I had was in getting the initial quote (which, honestly, was a problem with the other two contractors I contacted via Yelp). We had to go back and forth a few times to get an actual price and schedule a time and I had to send a reminder email or two. I’m glad I stuck with it, since the final price seemed fair and the work seems to be of good quality, but if the other contractors hadn’t been just as difficult to get quotes from, we probably would have gone with someone else.

We’re renovating our kitchen and a bathroom in a 50’s ranch. We had torn down walls to the studs and had big holes in the ceiling from removed soffits. Cornerstone was the second Drywall company we contacted and their quote came in under the first bid, even though it included additional services such as painting the ceiling and didn’t require any additional prep work on our part. The work was tedious as it required using drywall of different thickness and double layers in some areas to accommodate new cabinets and tie into existing plaster walls and ceilings. To eliminate the issue of matching ceiling texture, Mike proposed skim coating the ceilings of linked rooms so that the ceiling texture was uniform. The drywall/painting team that began work on our project had a couple issues that marred the result of their hard work. The team seemed focused on speed of work instead of quality, with the result of some details being missed. Examples would be ceiling LED placement, wrong drywall thickness in a key area, and dings in the ceiling. These issues were identified by Mike during inspection and he immediately took over the project himself. Mike corrected each issue, replacing existing drywall where necessary and making multiple visits to ensure the work was done properly. Thanks Mike.

We had needed to have drywall repairs done to correct many issues from previous work done in our home. For the quote Mike walked through our home and did a great job in understanding what we were trying to accomplish and the level of quality and detail we wanted to see. The quote process was very straightforward and clear as to time frames and work to be done. Will and Josh did a fantastic job of completing the work in a high quality manner. Not only did they do a great job of doing the work every day, but they also did a great job each day containing the mess and cleaning up on a daily basis. Drywall work is dusty and messy there is no getting around that. Will and Josh did everything they could to contain the dust and then cleaned up every day. This was a small detail that was very much appreciated by us. I’d highly recommend Cornerstone for any drywall and or painting work you need. I have already passed Mike’s information along to some neighbors.

Many small businesses say they take pride in their work, they are conscientious, and provide good customer relations, but with Mike it’s not just talk, it’s real. You’d think you’d have to pay a premium price for such service and results, but not so – Cornerstone Painting is very reasonably priced.

Mike at Cornerstone was AWESOME! We have a custom mahogany exterior front door-sidelight-transom unit whose finish was deteriorating badly after just 3.5 years of being installed. Even though it was sheltered by an upper porch, the finish was eroding and the stain was bleaching out and turning a sickly green color. Mike came to look at the door and determined that the maker had used a water based stain and finish. After much research, Mike came up with an oil based stain and varnish that were highly durable and had high UV ratings. He meticulously stripped the old finish and stain, then repeatedly wiped down the door to remove all the previous residue. He then applied the new stain and 3 layers of varnish. We are thrilled with the project! It took us forever to find someone to do the work properly. Mike even contacted the maker of the door, confirmed what products were needed and stripped and refinished the door to a beautiful conclusion. We highly recommend Mike and Cornerstone. He was definitely the right guy for the job!

The problem we needed resolved were our textured ceilings from the 70s, which had wear from a little water damage and seams left from walls previously taken out. Prior attempts to “feather-in” new texture left the ceiling looking like patchwork. Cornerstone came in, shored up the portions of our ceiling which were starting to sag and installed new drywall. (Since we have blown insulation, removal was not an option.)

They hung plastic which greatly reduced drywall dust traveling into non-repair rooms and kitchen cabinets. The finished product looked professional. We are over the top pleased with the work Cornerstone performed and highly recommend them.

We had removed a bulkhead in the middle of a large room. They completed the ceiling drywall repair for a FLAT ceiling. We can’t even tell there was a repair. They put up plastic and were very thorough in the clean up. We would highly recommend them for any drywall or painting job.

Mike and his team have now completed 5 rooms in our new home. They have done such a terrific job, there’s no question I will be asking them back to do the rest. They are extremely professional, respectful of my home, and take obvious pride in their work. They take time on the prep work and are very precise. They won’t leave (or accept payment) until the job is done right. And possibly the most important thing is that they are trustworthy – I don’t think twice about leaving them alone in my home, and I’ve even had them paint when we are out of town. I am really picky and detail-oriented, so finding a great painter is not easy! I am so glad my local paint store recommended Cornerstone. They are truly top-notch.

  From our first appointment to final walkthrough, Mike and his team were communicative, punctual, and maintained a polite and professional disposition.  They repaired a significantly large portion of our ceiling which had been removed due to damage from a massive plumbing leak.  They installed new drywall, repainted our ceilings across a few rooms, expertly matched the texture, and performed additional drywall repairs around the house.  The finished product was completed so well that no one can identify where the drywall was installed.  Mike also expertly negated any potential issues from street construction being performed on one of the repair days.
