About Cornerstone

You may say, “Look, I just want to get some work done in my home; why would I want to know anything about them?”

Great question, but here’s a question for you. Would you let just ANYBODY in your home? We’ve heard lots of horror stories about “contractors” – everything from unqualified workers doing shoddy work and refusing to return phone calls after they’ve cashed the check and moved on to the next unsuspecting mark, to the guys who take a large deposit check and skip town.

In our opinion, you’re doing yourself a disservice by NOT knowing something about who you’re inviting into your home.

So, let’s hit some highlights, in short…

Why choose us

Since 2005, we connect with our clients in trusting, long-lasting relationships, delivering meticulous attention to detail throughout each project.

Experienced and Easy to Work With

Mike has 28 years of experience with almost 20 of them running Cornerstone. He’s one of the most affable guys you’ll ever meet and will make you feel comfortable quickly.

Expert Team

We’re pleased to have reliable crews of subcontractors who have been with us for some time. We invest in our teams through mentorship, competitive payments, and bonuses for customer reviews.

Family Man of Faith

With three grown kids between us and six grandkiddos, we are blessed to share love and laughter with our family. The name “Cornerstone” is a proclamation of being followers of Jesus, and the guideline by which our business is run. We may not always get it right, but we will always do the right thing.

Protect Your Home

Since your home is your biggest and most valuable asset, our teams will treat your home or business place as if it was our own. Paint belongs on the walls...not the carpet, floor or furniture. We take great care in protecting your belongings and cleaning up after the work is done.

Meeting People Is The Best Part Of My Job

One of the things I like best about what I do is the chance to meet people, learn a little about them as they get to know me and build a trusting, long-lasting relationship.

Our Promise To You

After you approve your detailed, written estimate, I will communicate each step of the way until your project is completed to your satisfaction.

Civic-Minded & Service-Oriented

As a Fisher’s Rotarian, Mike is active in local programs like mental health initiatives, scholarship selection for area high school seniors, ramp building for disabled neighbors to improve mobility and outdoor access, and global efforts like building wells in Sierra Leone. Mike and Karen are happy to share their blessings across multiple church and charity programs locally and globally.

Our Focus

Our neighbors in the Hamilton County, Indiana towns of Carmel, Fishers, Fortville, McCordsville, Noblesville, and Westfield, and the north side of Indianapolis (Broad Ripple, Castleton, Geist, Meridian-Kessler, Zionsville) trust Cornerstone for their interior painting, exterior painting, drywall installation and drywall repair needs.

We connect with our clients in trusting, long-lasting relationships, delivering meticulous attention to detail throughout each project.

Family Business

After working for other contractors for ten years, Mike started his business in 2005 with little more than the idea of being able to determine his own value in the market. When Karen entered the picture in 2006, moving from Lafayette, IN to be with her new husband in Chicago, Mike had little structure or plan for his nascent business. Karen soon pointed out that this “business” was essentially a hobby. Sure, it was making a little money and Karen kept them afloat with her full-time job, but Mike was running the business by the seat of his pants.

When they moved to Fishers in 2010 (to be closer to their first grandchild), Karen found full-time employment, while Mike re-started the business in a brand new market. Not until 2018, after Karen “retired,” did she step in to help Mike run the business and they became a family-run business. Karen now handles the back-end portions of the business so Mike can focus on being the face of Cornerstone.
